Using Wheat

When I decided a few years ago that if I had wheat in my food storage, then I needed to know how to use it I started learning how to make bread. Just recently I have moved on to try using wheat (and other grains) in different ways.

One way that I have used wheat is for hot cereal in the morning. I cracked it with my hand mill. Actually the kids cracked it, because it was so much fun! Just before going to bed I put the cracked wheat and water in a crockpot on low. I use measurements of 2 part water to 1 part wheat.

Activated Carbon is used for its ability to reduce harmful organic and inorganic substances in the water. It removes unpleasant tastes, odors, chlorine, pesticides (such as lindane, DDT) and trihalomethanes (THMs). These substances adhere to the large surface area of the activated carbon.
